Asking an auditor a question
Every check in the panel ends with a link to an auditor at Proper Access. This page covers what happens when you use it, what a question costs and when you get an answer.
The short answer
One credit is one question on one topic. You ask it in the audit portal, a senior auditor answers within 3 to 5 working days, and the credit is only spent once that answer is there. Follow-up questions in that same thread cost nothing extra. A bundle of 10 credits costs € 250 and a bundle of 100 costs € 2.000, both excluding VAT. You need no Radar licence for it and no audit with us.
What travels with the link
The link sits under the result of a check and reads Ask an expert. It opens the audit portal with five things filled in already: the tab you had open, the theme, the check, the Radar version and the address of the page you were on.
Of that address, only the domain and the path travel. Everything after the question mark is cut off, because that is where session ids, reset tokens and staging filters live. A page on localhost or a file on your own disk does not travel at all, since we could not reach it anyway.
The question itself is yours to write. That is exactly the part the tool cannot guess: what you are unsure about, what you already tried and what is different in your situation. The sharper the question, the more useful the answer.
Nothing leaves your browser until you click. The Radar runs locally and sends us nothing on its own.
What one credit is
One credit is one question on one topic. Each question starts its own thread in the portal.
Follow-up questions in that same thread cost nothing. You can keep asking until it is clear, and attach a code sample or a screenshot.
Once the topic is done, the auditor closes the thread. Your next question is a new credit. That boundary is what keeps the price per question low: without it, one thread about the datepicker runs on into the menu, the form and the search.
Asking is free, answering is not
The credit comes off when the auditor posts an answer in the thread, not when you send your question.
If your question falls outside what we can help with, we say so in the thread and nothing is charged. The same goes for a question that is really a research project: then we suggest what would fit instead.
When you get an answer
Within 3 to 5 working days. The portal shows per thread whether we are up or you are, so you never have to guess whether your question got stuck somewhere.
If something has to go live before a deadline, say so. We will look at whether it can be faster.
How long a bundle lasts
A bundle is valid for 12 months from the date it is paid. Buy more later and that second bundle gets its own end date.
Credits are spent oldest expiry first, so you never lose credits you could still have used. The portal shows per bundle what is left and until when.
Who can ask
The balance sits with the organisation, not with a person. Anyone with an email address on your domain can ask a question, and each question shows who asked it, so an administrator can see where the credits go.
You need no Radar licence for it and no audit with us. They are separate things: you can buy credits without using the Radar, and use the Radar without ever asking a question.

A single question without a bundle costs € 37,50, a quarter of the € 150 hourly rate. All amounts exclude 21 percent Dutch VAT.
Questions about credits
Do I need a WCAG Radar licence to ask a question?
No. The link to an auditor sits under every check you have switched on, licence or not. Credits and a licence are two separate products.
Does the page I am testing reach you?
Not on its own. The Radar runs in your own browser and sends nothing. If you use the link to an auditor, the domain and path of that page travel along with the check you were on. Everything after the question mark is cut off, and an address on localhost or a file on your own disk does not travel at all.
What if my question is too big for one credit?
We say so before we start, and it costs you nothing. If you ask something that is really a research project, such as whether your whole webshop is accessible, we suggest what would fit: a mini audit, or a few separate questions about the parts that matter most.
How do I get credits?
Through the accessibility credits page at Proper Access. You request a bundle, get a quote and then an invoice. Once it is paid the balance is in the portal and you can start asking.
Does a question about a report you wrote for us cost a credit too?
Yes. Until August 2026 those questions were free and that has changed. Reports that were already in progress when it changed run on at no cost until that project is finished.
